Re: Astro voice actor here

Madman tell me they can't release the lost dub without permission from Japan, but it's been forwarded to the product managers. Maybe Jay could send them a note with his contact details? https://www.madman.com.au/actions/knowledgebase.do?method=support It would be amazing to see an official release. ...

Re: If you like games on Robots/Androids this may be for you ^_^

I watched a Twitch streamer play it, it looked really good. Very story focussed and reminded me of Blade Runner. It felt more like a choose-your-own-adventure movie than a game, and game decisions really seemed to make a difference to the story.

Re: Astro voice actor here

I've just contacted the licenced distributors of the 80s series in Australia (Madman Entertainment) and asked them if they can release the lost dub here. Many years ago they released the subtitled version of the cut footage, so they have a history of high quality releases and going the extra mile fo...

Re: Soundtrack sources, samples and pieces (Astroboy 1980)

Wow, I didn't realise there were so many. I think it's worth compiling them. It reminds me of the Neon Genesis Evangelion OST with like 20 versions of Fly Me To The Moon.

Re: Soundtrack sources, samples and pieces (Astroboy 1980)

I thought I'd do one to show what I meant by listing the time codes. I know The Robot Vikings has some Grieg and Bizet so I chose that one. Where it says STING it's a short instrumental piece of a few notes. They might not be of value, but I thought I might as well write them down. 26. The Robot Vik...

Re: Soundtrack sources, samples and pieces (Astroboy 1980)

I've thought about doing this before so I've already put some thought into it. There are some songs that have no clean version in the anime due to talking or sound effects, but can probably be reassembled into clean versions by sourcing parts from multiple episodes. Technically it's not too difficul...

Re: The Lying King

Disney have a long history of taking other stories and claiming them as their own, and they're extremely litigious. They're the ones responsible for the extensions of copyright duration. Disney don't have to win against Tezuka Co, they just have to extend the litigation process using their vast reso...
