Re: Original Japanese dialoque Script unearthed (Shin tetsuwan Atom 1980)

That's awesome! I wonder how late into things they settled on the episode name? The episode names on the bluray PDFs seem to be working titles too. Originally I mistranslated it because I thought the machine translate was skewing things. The title says 第2話二人の超人 if anyone needs the OCR text version.

Re: The supplemental DVD in the 80s bluray 2nd boxset is a gold mine

I think you mixed with episode 9: IX vs XI ;-) I'm counting Rogue One and The Clone Wars. :) Sure thing, maybe as soon as in a couple of years at this rate :-P I read an article that we won't live to see the last Star Wars movie (because they'll keep churning out sequals now). Sounds good to me, as...

Re: Favourite Pairings?

Definitely Atlas and Livian. They were both basically slaves together, and Walpur destroys Livian after she accidentally breaks a statute. So Atlas fights back and pushes Wapur's car off the road, then rebuilds himself and Livian. Then later on in The Anti-Proton Gun, Walpur comes back and kidnaps L...

I think this is one of my favourite pictures so far: https://i.imgur.com/Z8SCYZk.jpg https://i.imgur.com/WIqqEOu.jpg https://i.imgur.com/3vmgma3.jpg I think Tezuka liked Star Wars since Darth Vader turned up in Uran the Tomboy and The Time Machine. This drawing was from the year The Empire Strike Ba...

Re: The supplemental DVD in the 80s bluray 2nd boxset is a gold mine

It's nearly all drawings, but it looks like there's some heavy documention for 6 or so of the episodes. All in Japanese. I keep getting sidetracked on this project. I still have 23 episode drawings to go through, but here's what I've noted down so far: -----------------------------------------------...

Re: Favourite One-Episode Characters?

Blackie Young's story was tragic, but I don't feel any sympathy for him. He killed so many people and caused so much suffering. There's a bit where he kills a robot factory boss and the robot begs for his life and says he has a family, but Blackie kills him anyway and it was so violent it was edited...

Easter eggs, mistakes and oddities

There's an ancient thread for mistakes but it's full of broken image links so I'm starting a new one here. I was watching the 1980 Bluray release when I spotted this scene of Skunk's insect robots stealing Astro's schematics. https://i.imgur.com/dXB6Jpq.jpg High res version The writing in the top ri...

Re: Favourite One-Episode Characters?

Was Sherlock Homespun his Canadian version name? He was Inspector Randolph Holmes in the version I watched. Definitely a great character. Buck from The Transformation Robot is one of my favourites. Predated Transformers by several years and had such cool transformation sequences. I showed a girlfrie...
