Japan wouldn't have cared either way.

Maybe the screenshots I saw were just beta screenshots, something intended for the game but never made it.

Also makes me wonder if there was originally going to be a soccer match in the movie...

Well, I've never really cared for the movie adaptions, so I don't know which version it was from. I only remember seeing a screenshot of Astro kicking a ball in a soccer field.

I think this was pointed out once in another thread.

Regardless, still interesting.

I guess that kinda explains why there is a soccer game in the video game adaptions of the movie...
