I hadn't heard about this, and I don't know what AnimeLab is working from, but have the original first-generation elements of one of the episodes. (Dubbed original, that is; what we worked from.)

For the American dub of the 1980s series, the tracks came to us with music already in place. Only the dialogue was stripped out. Once in awhile there were some oddities, such as Jump showing up on the music track, or SFX track, or disappearing completely, in which case one of us would have to bark.

To complicate matters, there are also the writers who translated the different versions. The American 1980s scripts were translated in-house and then often rewritten by the production staff and cast, usually on the fly -- to match lip movements with syllables. I'm a huge Carl Barks fan. I don't see much crossover between Barks' visual style and Tezuka's. However, I DO see commonalities in scripting. Spielberg and Lucas are also big Barks fans. You can especially see it in "Raiders." The Scrooge comic book stories tended to be superb adventure tales.
