Hurray! I finally saw the CGI version. I have to agree that the science makes no sense. It said that blue and red core energy came from 1 star, but how would that work if they neutralize each other? While the idea of Astro not realizing he was a robot makes an interesting story, I still can't fathom...

I haven't read the manga yet, but I would prefer that Astro be a "clean slate", because transferring memories from a biochemical mechanism into a robotic mechanism doesn't make sense, in my mind anyway. But I confess that that story trope offers interesting ideas.

Is it just me or does the 2003 manga look like the 2003 anime? Maybe one inspired the other?
