Leon (the oldest member of Spill.com and the one who remembers the Astro Boy theme in the audio review), written a review on the DVD release. http://my.spill.com/profiles/blog/show?id=947994:BlogPost:2096540 Warning! While he does like many of Tezuka's creations, he's not a fan of Tezuka's art style.

Seriously, I agree with Raymond Yap (the person who drew the first drawing), Jungle King Leo aka Kimba The White Lion was a great anime and Lion King was a great movie so why can't we just get along? Again, not my art. (I wish though) http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2009/358/8/3/Merry_Christmas_fr...

The thing that made me interested in this picture is that Astro is my favorite Japanese comic hero and Superman is my favorite Western comic hero. They both have similar parrallels. Superman is seen as the grandaddy of comic book superheroes who set the standards that others would follow despite not...

It's not quite a cartoon, but I think it's close enough to deserve a mention: The Wind in the Willows . Here is an animation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2FBSuHVhVg I found the images dark and the plot and characters terribly boring. I hated it and always seemed to stumble on it. I actua...

Another thing that seperates Astroboy from other manga titles is that while most mangas/animes have a ending (and the authors try to make sure when the story ends, it ends), you can still get new stories from Astroboy even though Tezuka isn't around anymore.

In 50 years, I see Astro the same way I see Superman. Might not be as popular as he once was but would still a huge following, we'll continue to see new adaptations and he will always be an iconic character.
