Just how long do you think he could go before finding out he is a robot. In the movie Atom was activated on the table, and woke up as if nothing happened. Maybe he thought it was a dream? What a genius, hey? Still took him quite long to figure it out.

He was supposed to replace a human, so he can act like one, good or bad. He has always been a good little boy. Even if he would, it would be out of character (it happens).
