This is a poem I wrote recently and is the first I've written in quite a few years now so it probably doesn't flow as well as it should.
I had fun writing it, hope you all enjoy reading it.
Feedback welcome, please be gentle.
The loss of a loved
makes one do crazy things
but it is not every time
that evil this brings....
There once was a doctor,
Tenma's the name
Who had lost his son
and he took all the blame
Though it wasn't his fault,
he refused let go,
It became his obsession
to rebuild Tobio
Now a year had gone by
since he'd last seen his son
Tenma's been in his lab
and he's talked to no one
With the magic of
Symphony Number Five
Tobio had awakened
and come back alive
At first he was thrilled
at the son he had built
Not too long after
that thrill turned to guilt
For bringing to life,
a child that's not real
who he knew could not grow,
who he thought could not feel...
Then came the great Hamegg
who offered a price
On the boy Tenma built
that had failed to suffice
Since the price was so great,
Tenma could not say no
And said his good-byes
to his built Tobio
To the circus they went,
the boy and the man
Off to the carnival
the great Hamegg ran
A slave to an audience
seated in endless rows
Until came his saviour
with a big giant nose
Elefun's the name,
and he'd come to save grace
For the poor little robot
who could not find his place
He had finally found
his place in the world
Despite having first
been cast down and hurled
On the seventh of April
a robot was made
But today is the day
a hero is displayed

What I did at Work Today
Actually, I didn't go to work:
Instead, I call in dead and decide to head out-of-province and visit a Fine Arts event.
Annoyingly, as soon as I get into the car and turn the key, the gas gauge lites up.
So off to the nearest gas station I go.
When I get there, I realize I only have ten dollars in my wallet and a bit of change in the ashtray.
The sign at the gas station advertises a sale that could possibly help me out:
After making my purchase, I return to the parking lot of my apartment to park beside my neighbor's car for a few minutes.
I then resume my voyage.
I drive for a while in silence, thinking about life; how fast things change sometimes.
Just last week my beloved cat would sleep at the foot of my bed... and now I haven't seen little Muck-Muck for the past 2 days.
I miss him.
Oh well, crap happens.
I'm hungry... and since I skipped breakfast I think I will pull over at this restaurant I see coming up on my right:
Uh, maybe not.
I keep driving until I reach the neighboring province, and look at my watch.
There is two hours left before showtime.
Now it was really time to find a place for food,
or I was gonna have to run someone over and have them them for lunch.
I found a nice, comfy family run diner:
I have the special. It was dee-licious!
After a successful dine and dash, it was time to head to the art show.
When I get there, I am appalled!
With the abundance of people there, not one knew how to
read, apparently:
As quickly as I had arrived, I depart.
Disappointed at wasting this perfectly good day off,
I decide that I might as well head home and make it in to work tomorrow morning.
One subtle stop for fuel later and I continue my journey home.
Many hours later the sun is up again and I realize I would be going to work on no sleep.
Oh well, crap happens.
I will just have to make a pit stop somewhere and steal some coffee and breakfast.
Now what in the heck does that sign up ahead say?
Oh, yeah... forgot about that!
But right now my hunger and the guy driving beside me while diggin' for gold
up his nose is more of a distraction than me selecting a different song on the
ipod and scratching my ass simultaneously.
It is now 7:52 am, Thursday September 1st and I am a mere few blocks from work.
I can hardly wait to get there so I can take a nap.
Currently, I eat my breakfast as I drive by this sign:
It's gonna be a lloooooonnnnnnngggg day.
