Yeah. Even when its just slowed down it can turn into a sad melody instead of a happy one.
There probably are carousels that play it in Japan, but I live in America so that's not happening anytime soon...

647: You keep catching yourself absent mindedly whistling the Astro Boy theme (in my case from the '63 version). All of a sudden I can't get the GD thing out of my head.

I'm a human mocking bird at times, I'll break into a whistle without realizing I'm doing it, and sometimes I don't even recognize the tune I'm doing till much later. Once at work, I found myself whistling the overture to Tannhauser, and a coworker in the next cube who was a real opera buff asked me, "do you know that you were whistling Wagner, BADLY? "

I've often had a strange day dream. I'm in a small, family owned Japanese restaurant someplace and that dammed unconscious whistling happens again. All of a sudden, I've got every waiter and cook who's over 50 or so years old staring at me (hopefully with pleasant smiles on their faces).
(This would NEVER happen at Benihana!)

Well just when I though I'd gotten the AB theme out of my head I caught myself whistling something else that I couldn't figure out what it was at first, then face palmed when I realized it was Uran's theme from the 80's anime!
