Night Spirit Masters - Gnawa Music of Marrakesh

This album is comprised entirely of native African music.
Like the last album, if you haven't heard this one yet I highly recommend it.
I'll link to a few tracks from this one. Toura Toura Tour Kelilah and Said Fafy Drum Solo just so you can get and idea of what it's like.

TPR - A Melancholy Tribute to The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I love video game music, but I also love good fan covers of video game music. Zelda tends to receive some good covers for it's soundtracks, and this album is no exception.

This particular album features melancholy piano covers of some of the songs in Ocarina of Time, and man are they beautiful. You can listen to the entire album for free on YouTube from TPR's YouTube page.

He also does fantastic melancholy piano covers of a good bit of the songs from Final Fantasy VII through X and The Last of Us. His Final Fantasy VII album in particular is probably my favorite of the bunch.

Gojira - From Mars to Sirius

This album is one of my all-time favourites. There is nothing else quite like Gojira, they have a sound that is only unique to them, only Devin Townsend comes close (Which is another band I really like, as well as Fear Factory). Gojira are a death metal band (Well, Technical death metal band if you want to get anal) that does not sing of death, but of spirituality, well-being of the Earth and humanity as a whole. In fact, some of the money they generate through their music goes towards helping whales since the band has an interest in sea life.

You can listen to their music here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1TXY-elzb4&list=PLtiMAzVCLC1DLGYf4069Tb07f3fbTbfLK&index=5

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - The Lost Christmas Eve

I try to make it a point to listen to this album every Christmas Eve. Not much to say about it other than that it has awesome Christmas rock music and that it's hard to believe it's 10 years old this year.

Giulietta Degli Spiriti - Nino Rota

Some may recognize this score's composer for his later work in the Godfather films. But I know him as a major trademark of most of Frederico Fellini's films. Ever since The White Sheik, Rota did a score for every film Fellini directed up until his death in 1979.

Without a doubt, the song that made this score for me was "Vascello di Susi". It reminds me a lot of his later soundtrack to the film Roma (another film by Fellini).

The Man Who Sold The World - David Bowie

This is a great album right here. I think a good chunk of us recognize the title song, either the original or the later cover by Nirvana.
The tone of some of the songs in this album are surprisingly in a similar tone to Black Sabbath's beginnings, I may sound crazy to some but just listen to "The Supermen" or "Saviour Machine". It's like a more melodic and varied version of Black Sabbath with someone who could actually sing. Don't get me wrong, I love the first two Black Sabbath albums, I'm just not much of an Ozzy fan. The instrumentals in that album are great in my opinion.

Surprisingly enough, most of my peers despise this guy's music. Guess they haven't listened to Low before. Either that, or they only heard modern Bowie and never gave his older stuff a chance. Their loss.

Miserere - Arvo Part

This was one of my favorite CDs as a kid. The music isn't for everyone, it's very slow in nature.
To get an idea whether or not you'll like it, listen to track 2, "Festina Lente". It's the shortest song and perfectly shows what the rest of the album is like. Somber, trance like and quiet.
The other two tracks are the title track, "Miserere", and "Sarah Was Ninety Years Old".

The album has a wonderful composition to it. It's really nice to just sit back and let your mind travel while listening.

Eh, not too much of a fan of that last post. The description I gave just doesn't do the album justice. Oh well.

Lizard - King Crimson

And I thought that the King Crimson sound couldn't get any better, "wow" is the best way to describe this one.
