Rush - Signals (1982)

The Toronto based prog rock band's ninth studio album. "Subdivisions" is the highlight of this album, but the rest is also treat to listen to.

Been listening through Rush's backlog of music lately, and I must say, I'm impressed. I had listened to a bit of their music before, but hardly any. Glad I'm really discovering them now.

Look out, 1960s cheese coming through.
Not to be mistaken with the track by The KLF. This is the soundtrack(s) to the two weird Dr. Who film productions from the 1960s, the ones that sorta had more in common with Santa Claus Conquers The Martians tonally. Not sure whose idea it was to accompany the films with an Artie Shaw inspired jazz score, but, whoever it was, was responsible for the main truly redeeming quality of the film. Does also make some pretty good Rifftrax material too.

Suspended Animation - John Petrucci

Released in 2005, Suspended Animation is a well-crafted instrumental solo album by Dream Theater's lead guitarist, John Petrucci. It's a great blend of melodic riffs, heavy metal awesomeness, and prog time signature zaniness. I sometimes put this album on in the background while I'm surfing the web. Recommended tracks from this album are "Jaws of Life", "Glasgow Kiss", and "Damage Control".

Judas Priest - Firepower

I never thought that Priest would be able to put out their best album since 1990's Painkiller, even after all these years! Each song off the album is a classic already, and Halford's vocals are stronger than ever! (we need a metal sign here!) \m/  \m/
