What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? c.1962 is a thriller which is one of my favorite films that truly terrifies me. It is about a former child star who torments her sister who was crippled in an "accident". The movie contains some hard core psychological terror and is on par with movies such as The Bad Seed.

The Invasion of the Body Snatchers - Phillip Kaufman

This film is a great example of how a movie remake could be done right (along with Nosferatu the Vampyre). This film builds up a bleak and alien tone that haunts throughout the entire feature and pays off heavily in the ending.
While the original film from the '50s is more psychological, this one is all out horror. With screeching Pod people, grotesque pods, a post apocalyptic urban alien empire and a half man half dog fusion.

The acting is also great. Star Trek fans will recognize Leonard Nimoy (the original Spock) as Dr. David Kibner.

I love that movie. To quote Mel Brooks: "Made in Black and White and Plywood!"

This was one of the very first movies I ever went to as a kid. I remember it was on a double feature with "voyage to the bottom of the sea"

Batman Begins - Christopher Nolan

My personal favorite of the Nolan Batman trilogy. I watched it for the first time a month or two ago and loved it. Always loved seeing origin stories for superheroes, and I think this movie handles Bruce Wayne's transformation into Batman well.

Dark City (Alex Proyas, 1998), this is a very underrated film that I discovered a while back, it is a must watch for all. Although, there is a lot to take in and some would consider the plot quite confusing at first. But the overall moral and concept of this film is amazing, the ending makes me cry every time.

Actually I haven't seen this one yet, but I've heard a lot about it. Just put it on hold at the library.
The description from the poster:
"David is 11 years old. He weighs 60 lbs. He is 4' 6" tall. He has brown hair. His love is real. He isn't."

Almost a perfect description of :astro: !

(I might end up writing a fan fiction cross over based on this.)
