Well I found it interesting that no one here marked it's passing.
But not really. I enjoyed while it lasted. And I learned quite a bit...
Maybe it'll be back someday....

Nahhhh. It had to go before the movie. Too old fashioned.
It was interesting to see far Anime has progressed. We'll soon have seens from the new movie and that's all anyone will reference to. But the original may be back....

I get the feeling Cartoon Network is going to want to play the new series when the movie comes out and don't want two Astro Boy cartoons on at the same time.
Yes that seem's right on....
I hope they show the Japanese version, but that is unlikely....

I do not think adult swim would be the least bit interested in the English dubbed version of the 2003 series because it was crafted especailly for the 8-12 year-old boy audience. As such, it lacks any adult content; it likewise lacks nearly all of the sweetness of the JLV. It just has nothing to offer the adult swim audience other than action and a smart aleck kid.

It won't work...
The prints lack proper color, luminance and chrominance levels were screwed up! Pastels and soft colors won't work on CN. They tried and failed, Astroboy is NOT a childs TV show such as Dora etc. And now against shows such as Pokemon and Skunk Fu it looks positively dull and lifeless. Where in the lineup would you put it?It produced miserable ratings. Lack of violence lack of Eye candy, where would you put it? At what time? .
Lack of action... It's not a childrens program really...

One last time here is a "Repaired" flash stream of the Denkou episode that I produced using the primative Video cards and programs I had at that time.... The color is light years above the original but nowhere near what could be done now!

Here is the full res Real video stream

And here is the downloadable file....
Feel free to compare it to the unretouched original vid.....
