Prince Planet?

Postby Hikari Tail » 15 years ago

Okay i am not going to say Prince Planet is a rip of for all we know just like Jet Mars it could have been a cult manga back in the days when Tezuka had to deal with copy rights problems, but look at these pictures and tell me it does Not remind you of Astro Boy?

Actually it is a completely different cartoon. He is from another planet and is disguised as a regular boy. He gets his power from the amulet that is around his neck. But it always seems to run out at the worst possible moment. lol

lol, but still he looks rather ...like he could be Astro's proto type i mean look at the manga cover that is a pose Tezuka used for Astro how many times?

We can be sure to say it's based on Astro boy's appearance.

It sort of looks like a Tezuka production, but I don't believe it really is.

It certainly would be interesting to see an episode one day and see how Tezuka-ish it does or does not look exactly. Could be a case of some inspiration being drawn from Tezuka.

Yes true the story is different but the characters fight-poses and setting looks a lot like that of Astro.

The style does look like Tezuka's, although I thought it kind-off looked more like Megaman when I first saw it.

Does anyone know who's the artist/writer?

Well, you guys have to realize by that time, many of the art styles in Japan closely resembled Tezuka's style, with a few exceptions.

Actually, the style of this cartoon looks more like the style of Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Tetsujin 28/Gigantor, specifically the 1960's series.
