ever wonder how much amo you can pack in that small body with all the electronics it has?

Tezuka said the guns were 5.5mm "caseless" parabellum where the propellent is "hard blocked" and the guns eject no shells.

I might have seen that somewhere, but I cannot recall where. ;)

I think I've read that here... It was a very old discussion.

It's in the Let's Draw Manga Astro Boy book (page 112). It says the shell cases turn to smoke on contact with oxygen. The firing rate is 1000rpm, and the ammo is 500 (250x2) 5mm parabellum cartridges. The barrels extend using hydraulic pressure.

Hi!

Can someone please help me?

How can I obtain an english sub version, zone 1 DVD, of the Original 1963-66 Astro Boy?

Maybe the NBC version...?

Anyone, please...

I know of only 2 to 3 episodes that were in the original Japanese language with subtitles. These were extras in TRSI's Astro Boy Set 2 (1963). They are:

  1. #34, Midoro Marsh (Lost Episode)
  2. #56, Earth Defense Army (in color)
  3. #193, Greatest Adventure on Earth
(all 3 with English subtitles).
Episode guide

The entire Japanese-language series in 2 sets; however, these are region 2 & have no subtitles:

Set #1

Set #2

I have both, and am very happy with them, :astro: even without subtitles.

You ever seen the Tezuka blueprints? Where else could you possibly stock all those 9mm rounds?

They might just want it to sound more appropriate. And it looks more like a laser than a machine gun.
