Dr. Elefun's new dub name is "Dr. O'Shay".

Some things were good enough as they were, and Ochanomizu's English name 'Elefun' was surely one of them! :angry:

:huh: Dr O'Shay sounds more Irish than anything. And unless he has a pint of Guinness in his hand .......(it's OK im part Irish, so I can 'spin some blarney' ) Well It just doesnt fit in with the rest of the Japanese scene. The critics have spoken, show some consistancy with the charecters for us older fans to relate to

Yeah, Dr Elefun was a great name because of his nose. I believe his name was Packadermus J Elefun in the 60s series, which is even better!

I do not think that I have even seen him once in the 22 eps that I have viewed. His page does not make him Atomu's sensi (teacher), but rather Shinsaku Ban, Private investigator.

The Characters and relationships page makes him relate directly to our little protagonist, and indirectly to "Ochanomizu doctor"
through "month Yuuko" .
After all, the sensi is

"Garden field green". And if you think the Bablefish translation of her name is funny, you ougth to look at the translations of the voice actors' names, hers is " Kobayashi sand seedling"!
police inspector's is even funnier: "Milky Way ten thousand height".


Atom's is "Tsu village truth", while


Atlas' is "mountain learning/repairing", and


Electric Light's is "Serving you see".


Mosquito tow's is "The child it is cheap Takehito".

But, the funniest is

Ha - ray's: "The beam rice field it is clear". Well, actually, as I was scrolling through them, Mosquito tow's name came up different, this time being: "The child it is cheap the military affairs person"!

Hey Mosquito Tow was Inspector Randolf Holmes in The Made Made Solar Sun of the 80s series. Can he still do the robot disguise thing that changes his height and build?
