Postby Dragonrider1227 » 15 years ago

Astroboygf brought this to my attention. Theres a website where you can read Mangas and one of them is a chapter of Astro Cat. Some strange series where this cat has all Astro Boy's powers

That's cool!

I bought the manga a year or two ago, hoping to machine translate it, but the kanji was missing the little kana symbols above it that sometimes get used in writing for children. Not being able to type kanji, I was unable to translate it. :d oh:

It was a fun manga to read, is that all the chapters that were done?

Shame, I think it could've lasted longer since I've enjoyed reading this than several of these new wave mangas coming out that I won't even mention.

Is it from Osamu Tezuka? Or just inspired from his works?

Ditto, I'm wondering too. Can anyone bring some clearness into this mystery?

"Astro Cat" was made by Tezuka himself, as a side project, after wondering about what he could do if he remade Astro Boy. (I don't know if that's fully true.) This one only went for one volume, so nobody worry about trying to find the rest of the series.

Anyway, it casts a new light on cat fights to me  It will stick in my mind each time I hear some loud angry meowings near my house :p
