hi im carly im 30 years old and i have loved astroboy 1980s all my life i have the 10 disc boxset and the 2 5 disc dvds i have loved astro since iwas about 4 or 5 he makes me happy and this sounds lame but sometimes makes me cry LOL I have lurked on these forums for years but i wanted to join astro boy he has given me a lifetime love of japanese anime i also love kimba the white lion etc and i have most of the Hayao Miyazaki movies a few weeks ago i was out shopping and i found some offical asto boy japanese stickers i was thrilled! i dont like any other astroboy but the 1980s one but i grew up with that
and sorry about my typing and spelling i have some health issues

Welcome to the forum.
Astroboy is certainly an enjoyable show, its often meant to make you think, so its only fair it can be emotional at times.
I myself am just a little too young to have attached myself to the 80's series. Instead I find myself enjoying the 2003 one the most.
Have you seen either of the other versions (60's or 03) and what do you think of them.

if you watch astro boy 1980s it is really dark astro always has morals and wants the best for people but people like altlas skunk etc hurt him and exploit him
