It'll probably be PG-13 or something like that. Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis was PG-13.

Failure? You think Astroboy is an entertainment? Or a Fantasy?
I would again go to 003 and post a "Page" from Pluto.

The Astro Boy franchise is meant for entertainment. It was a comic, which is meant for entertainment.

I don't see why that is so hard for you to understand. <_<

Walt Elias Disney
Astro, and all TV designed by and for the NAB and it's puppet assetts, the NEA etc, are for instruction and education. :tenma:
Mere entertainment was never the goal of Astroboy or any thinking intelligent anime.

No.

Tezuka wrote his works not just to spread a message about the things he believed in, but also for entertainment. He watched a lot of western animation, and read lots of comic books during his childhood. That was entertainment to him. Now people read his works to admire his stories, art and characters, all of which can be a form of entertainment. Even his own philosophy can be entertainment to others.

You are very wrong. I may not be a very good 'fan' of Tezuka, but I can safely say that his works have been for entertainment, and still entertain today. Because I sure as heck feel entertained when I read or watch his works.

And quit posting all of those  and other random smilies, it's only making you look more over-confident and frankly, no one is really agreeing with you. Not to mention that I can hardly understand your English and grammar. All you have been doing is spamming, which I'm not helping at all with. So just stop it.

Right, I am done here. If these forums had the option of blocking someone, I would have already done it by now.

Of course Astro Boy is entertainment. Sure, he might have other reasons but he didn't leave in entertainment aspect out.

Astro Boy or Tetsuwan Atomu was entertainment but also gave a message, or rather messages. That's how Tezuka did his work, written on human rights and war. It's all reflected in the robots status in the manga and the series. I don't claim to know the man and I haven't read any of his other manga's, that's just my view on him and I'm sure that view is different for everyone else.

I just think, if you have a really story to tell and it's got heart in there, then it's last. Even if it's just things about family, like Cloudy with a chance of meatball was.

"F-Man" wrote:Because Illumination makes family films, you're probably right that they'll want the audience to know. However, if they respect the work like it should be and make something for a more mature audience, saying it is based on Astro Boy would actually LOWER ticket sales. People would instantly take it for a kiddy movie, and let's not forget that the previous movie underperformed.

The Japanese film was just called 'Atom' if they'd gone for the same approach in the English verson it might've boosted it's sale if it'd been just called 'Astro'. And I still believe there'll be a Astro Boy 2 (there's no harm in hoping is there?) Sure Imagi are in trouble, but if they ever join with someone or another company takes interest if Pluto is successful then it could happen.

There was a video game called Alice years ago, very popular game but the company later shut down. But recently after the film Alice another game company (EA i think) have taken what remains of that other company on to create a sequel. They specialise in getting smaller companys help in making games. If Imagi ever got that help, then there could be an Astro Boy 2 or even another TNMT film.

So...I guess, just never say never.

I don't [post to be agreed with. And as I said no real artist is here for the entertainment of the petty boojwahh. Tezuka worked in a very rarfied time. To mold the new child into something other than the racist mindset that dominated the 30's and 40's. The prime use of animation was for two purposes Entertainment and education. The goal being to perform both at the same time.
And overcome the barriers caused by WWII. Bridge cultural gaps.
And I find your reaction to the emoticons perfect. just whatI what I would expect at this point of the reactivation. And the Spray bottle said? And why would I expect you to understand me with a quick study? And why would I stop emoting as I see fit for the comfort of an unknown Cyber Hopper? :w00t:
Devise a scenario that touches upon the human condition in Cyberage pop culture. Be artistic.

You clearly do not understand my posts, or are just not reading them.

I have said that I understand and respect his messages. But what I am trying to say, was that his stories were BOTH meaningful AND entertaining. It is very possible for them to be both. You only seem to think that something can be one or the other. Again, you are wrong.

And really, could you at least try to type in better English?

I'm done here for good now, because I am no longer going to waste my energy typing stuff that simply won't get to you. I trust that you will also leave me be as well.
