I do agree with you Jeffbert. I really do. I would prefer animation 100% but if they ARE going to attempt live action I'd hope that care was taken.

I fear that more emphasis will be on Hollywood stars than on accurately representing the manga. Plus, if it is made as an ASTROBOY story, it will be doomed to censorship/writing a story for the kiddies.

Just because Universal acquired the rights don't mean they are gonna do anything with it as far as a movie goes. They might turn it into a ride/exhibit Universal studios or just got it for the sake of sitting on the rights so other companies could not obtain it . I mean don't get me wrong would love to see something decent come out of this but after that one with Nicolas Cage voicing the father I'm not sure

I hope it's not going to be live action. (I don't like watching a movie with real life people that was originally a manga. Also, americans adapting a japanese series making it into a movie is not such a good idea. Just saying.)

I want pluto to be an anime first. Then, it can be a movie. Though, I think Japan would be better off making it.

I think Pluto would translate well to live action, the robot designs are basically human in it.

We're getting so good with CGI now it would look really good too, that and the main design of everyone is believable and translates very well into real people. Atom can readily be played by a little kid with no worries about him coming off as cartoonish.
