@LittleAcorn - as for the nose size, remember, our noses continue to grow throughout life - hey, maybe THAT explains Dr. Elefun!!

I am so terribly sorry for reviving a very VERY old thread (You can tell me off if you want, I just felt the need to tell you all), but I couldn't help but squeal over the fact that my images were linked in the first post. HAHAHA!

Also, that video had me laughing so hard that wine shot from my nose.

There is one chapter of the MIGHTY ATOM CHRONICLES that was omitted from the current series. Strange Wings translated it for me, it is titled TOM OF DROPPY; it is about a young man who becomes a dupe of villains who are placing suitcase bombs all over the city. I believe that Tenma is that young man.

While the DH does have other panels omitted, these two pages were omitted between vol 7 p101 & 102:

The omitted chapter is #4, thus making Baro #5, rather than #4

Wonder why those were omitted.

So Tenma is biracial in the timeskipping AU?! That's honestly pretty cool! I just wonder if Tezuka meant him to be mixed race in general canon, and not just that one manga timeline.

That was part of the "once upon a time" story arc where Astro went back in time. The chapter was called "Dr. Tenma" in DH #7.

Tetsuwan Penguin, I know what arc it's from. A lot of people I talk to just call it variations of "timeskip AU" (short for "alternate universe") because it's an arc so different from the rest of the Astro Boy canon. I was just wondering in my post if Tezuka intended for Tenma to be biracial in more than just that arc.

I just don't see how that those missing pages fit into that story. In a previous panel, Tezuka goes into the famous horse puns dealing with Tenma's name.

Tenma DOES translate into "Pegasus" and the Japanese space agency some years back launched an Xray observatory satellite named "Pegasus" or "Tenma" But get this.... Before launch that satellite was developed under the code name "Astro-B". Father and son? https://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/tenma/tenma.html

Well, the panels immediately preceding those may be graphically the same, but the dialog is likely very different.
