Astro Sponge

Postby Alittleacorn » 13 years ago

I came across this funny picture.

Image

Astro with flat hair? Frankly if I was a 5 year old Japanese kid being encouraged to clean more often, I'd be confused by why my hero Atom has lost his classic spikes for Kenchi hairdo.

Why is Astro on a sponge anyway? Actually not even on the sponge, you remove the packaging...it's only a sponge! No Astro, just sponge. Just like those stones that say 'you wear this it'll give me peaaaace' what's the point when the letters and pictures are gone and it's just a pretty rock?

Why, that's what his hair looks like in the shower.

I don't recognize the Japanese characters for "Tetsuwan Atom", so maybe the company took the picture, changed it and hoped it would work to sell the sponge?

BTW isn't that writing Korean instead of Japanese?

ADDED LATER -

HEY, IT LOOKS A BIT LIKE A JR. VERSION OF THE OL' TENMA HAIR PLUME, RIGHT?? XD

The symbols look Chinese so it's possibly it's a bootleg. Hence the lack of classic spikes. However, that's not a bad look for him XD

...Or maybe they merely edited it to avoid a potential copyright violation. Maybe Tezuka Productions still isn't aware of this?

I'm sure somebody must know, I mean, come on it's Astro!

I'd laugh though if someone from Tezuka Productions was over in China, suddenly felt to urge to bath and found despiked Astro on a sponge. XD

I Know Right??? I feel the same way.

This kinda reminds me of my Harry Potter towel. I just cant dry off with it. There are places that need to be dry that his face shouldn't be.

It's simple. When you're a kid having a bath, you spike your hair like Astro's. Astro does the reverse. :D
