It is free (as in free speech), and it runs on anything: Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux, *BSD, mostly anything you can find.

Okay! Just getting back to basics. These pictures may not be "high-tec" and may have been seen elsewhere, but I thought I'd add them here as they are pictures of Cobalt/Jetto and I wanted to get in on the fun! (I only have 17 of the 89 and some have appeared on this site ala POSTS by JeffBert!) Here is the front and back of the Cobalt/Jetto trading card from the 1996 series of Tezuka Osamu trading cards. Hope you enjoy and find it interesting!

Cobalt/Jetto trading cards?
If I'd ever seen those on ebay I might have bid on them. Interesting that they came out with them in '96 which was between series of the anime.

Looks like the only difference between Atom and Cobalt is that Cobalt isn't wearing boots, and he does have a very slightly more prominent nose. However, Tezuka has drawn Atom with the 'flat' shoes as well.

I've been looking at DH #14 which has a Cobalt/Uran story. On page 83 it looks like cobalt flying with Uran using ARM JETS!

Okay, I'll bite! Here's the page in question. I'm just wondering if this version of "Uran" is as originally published or have panels been added?

Yep, those are arm jets. Remember, he could fly in the manga.

Also TRADING CARD OMG ASDFGHJKL; I WANT IT ;-; That's the scene from Midoro Swamp where Atom has to remind Cobalt not to kill the lizard. That bothers me a bit... but there are plenty more things about Atom that bother me more than this, such as: he's an animal killer, and in the old manga and anime series (especially the 60's), he may even be a murderer. Of course, I'm fairly sure that the latter was not intended nor implied, but it still bothers me; and the former bothers me even more, because the animals he kills are either semi-important plot devices (like the fish in Hot Dog Corps.), or passed off as "monsters". /rant

Okay, sorry about that... Now, not only does the realism factor occasionally bother me, this haunts me on an almost regular basis! :(

Some of the violence in the manga and especially in the anime can be passed off as "cartoon" violence, such as when Astro throws a villain out a window into a passing police car and the guy ends up with nothing more than some bandages appearing on him. But an actual homicide on Astro's part? I can think of only one episode that left me with that thought, and it may have only looked that way due to a latter scene cut from the release. There may have been cases where someone died because Astro failed to act (a hobson's choice on his part).

Here are some more Cobalt/Jetto images. The first is a color rendition of when Jetto first meets Astro Boy and the other are sketches used to show how to draw "Cobalt/Jetto".

Was the color picture from an official Tezuka publication or a knockoff? I've never seen Atom drawn with blue eyes except on third party stuff. Also the drawing style doesn't exactly match the Dr's. (and that's not his signature. )
