I'd REALLY like to see that other one, and asked the guy to come over here look us up - I wonder what ep has been colorized = I'd love to find a way for us to see it! :d evil:

I was wondering how they got the Japanese openings to colorize too. I also wonder if maybe they were pitching this to Tezuka - I think it would have been really difficult to colorize some of the gorgeous background matte painting he used.

Those police cars in Easter Egg colors are really funny.

I think those are traditionally supposed to be yellow or white, but seeing as they probably lacked proper references for some of the characters, this is a not altogether surprising result. They seem to have had excellent references for Atom himself, but it may have been some without eye color- of which there are many images of him where his eyes are simply black, color image or not. He looks really good with blue eyes, though; and they could have been thinking along the lines of different incarnations having different features, as this was well after the 80's series had run it's course.

There apparently were color magazines with Atom drawn with blue eyes, and iirc Mar's eyes were blue. Did the right stuff VHS release videos include episode 193?

I have no idea. And while I'm aware that these magazine representations exist, I do not think that they can be considered canon. And I'm not sue how many Americans knew about Mars back in 1994, just like I'm not sure how many people even know about him now, in the age of the Internet.

Whaaaa?

THE COLORS! THE COLORS! It's beautiful. It puts me in mind of the Beatles Yellow Submarine for some reason.
Thanks be to you LBF for sharing. And thanks to you Aprilseven, for keeping me in the loop. I wouldn't have wanted to miss this. Though that's what I get for not checking in often.

I cannot simply come across an awesome find and not talk about it around here and other places- I am excite and I want people to be as excite as I am, so that we can all be excite together about the same dumb things. :3 Sometimes, it's just not as fun if you're the only one that's excited about something. As selfish as that makes me, sometimes people just like to freak out a little together. Group excitement for a thing makes it... I dunno... more exciting somehow, I guess.

I usually -hate- colorization of black and white productions (such as the Shirley Temple films and It's a Wonderful Life) but this is done very well mostly likely because it's animation and doesn't need to the color spectrum that life action needs.

Pretty interesting! Nice find!

Linux has a video editor program called "avidemux" that might be able to handle frame by frame reconstruction.
