I disagree entirely; suppose you were quoting from a book, only to learn that the text had changed since then. 24 hours is sufficient; besides that, I could ask a mod to edit it, but then who would know that there had been an additional link posted. I would like to make the 10K character limit --> at least 11K, because my list of 89 episodes is nearly at the limit, & it still lacks links to at least 12 episodes. :p

Let's say that a post has a bunch of broken image links to it and you want to upload them back with a different link. Wouldn't be more convenient to be able to restore the image back on the same post to avoid adding more posts than necessary?

Plus informative OPs like this thread here would be more streamlined. Instead of having to wade through many posts just to get information on which episode of the 1960s series jeffbert is talking about, people would only have to look at the OP for discussion of the 1960s episodes.

Another way would be a special tag like used for sticky threads to allow them extra privileges. That would take an administrator to set up though.

Because we are a very small group of volunteers, it can become problematic very quickly to just open up editing options the way you are describing. As one of the moderators, I assure you that we discuss things like this and are constantly considering and re-considering things that will make using the forum more enjoyable for all.

For now, all you have to do is PM a moderator and we can make any edit desired to a particular post for you. I've updated posts for Jeffbert in this manner - but I do see your point about how it can be confusing, and thank you for suggesting we take another look at our editing protocols. :)

I have a question about the sound on the original Japanese episodes.
One of the episodes WAS captured by "TRS" on the second boxed set of the ELV as an extra. Episode #193 was sub'ed by them and included. Now if you compare the sound track between these two, especially the opening credits you will hear a slight difference in tone and tempo, as if the Japanese DVD is playing a bit SLOWER than the US region disk sold by TRS. I am assuming that this episode was transcribed by them from FILM not video. Could this slight variation in pitch actually be due to the video running at a different speed (I don't know if there IS a difference in running time), or was something else causing this? While I am not a musician, my ears CAN hear the slight difference in tempo and pitch between the opening music between the video from the TRS issued disk and on the video from the region two DVD.

Any ideas?

Just a wild idea, it might be the electric frequency. USA uses 60 Hz, but Japan uses 50 Hz, at least half of the country. I know it does a difference with the old NES : in Europe music is roughly a half-tone below the same in USA, and games are slightly different in speed. In Zelda for example, the character takes slightly more than 3 seconds to go through a screen horizontally in the USA, but almost 3.5 seconds in Europe. Each time the ration approximately matches 50/60.
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.
