You mean it's most likely going to be in English? Good! That makes things easier. I hope the episodes make their way to Youtube, somehow. I wonder how they are going to handle his origins in this one, though... Or is it just going to be presented as is?

I think the show is going to be teaching you lessons and such. Probably no action or fighting robots. I'll give it a try someday. (maybe when I'm alone...don't want anyone else see me watch little kids shows. )

I don't care what people see me watch and enjoy and don't understand why anyone would.

For me the overpowering nostalgia will be reason enough to watch it. Plus can anybody say second (or third) childhood?

BTW, I'm waiting for Yuuki x Atomu to chime in here saying how kawaii that picture of Astro is!

hmm... true, true. But my Mother always says "Grow up", when I watch things that's a bit too young for my age. I remeber watching shows like the muppet babies when I was very small, and when my brother and I started to take a little peek at our childhood she was like "Oh c'mon! You guys are watching the muppet babies!? Grow up!" (I still remeber that day like it was yesterday.)

So that's why I'm a bit embarrassed to watch little kids shows. Though, now days, many teenagers and adults adore My little pony friendship is magic and that's a little kids show. So why the heck not watch Astro boy Nigeria pre school kids version!

(What happend to My little pony anyway? That's not how it looked like when I was a kid. lol, I sound like an old lady now! )

As stated above, Nigeria's primary language is English. So YES the show should be in English. African nations have a flurry of diversity when it comes to their official language; true many citizens of the nations of Africa have their native language but then there is the official language (usually a left over European language from the colonial era). As such English and French are very common languages in all of Africa.

As for watching little kids shows... It really depends on how 'kiddish' it really is for me personally. For this show I'll probably watch the first couple of episodes just to get a feel for it, but if it turns out to be something reminiscent of Care Bears I'll probably be immediately turned off. Regardless if it's Astro Boy.

I watch plenty of shows that are technically 'kids' shows (Astro Boy for one, and shows like Samurai Jack). The driving point for me is the show itself and the stories it presents. Though admittedly if it is true that this show is aimed towards pre-schoolers it might be incredibly 'dull' to an older person's standards (Remember Blue's Clues?).

So while I am happy that this show is being made for such a wonderful county I am hesitant to say if it will be an entirely enjoyable show to watch for me personally. And that's not a bad thing. It more than likely will be a great show, for it's targeted audience.

There was this anime that was called "Mew Mew Power" and it had an African dub. (It was pretty interesting to see!)

Anyways, Yeah I mean like little kids shows as in pre schoolers kids shows. The one's for older kids are great! :) ! (I'd have to say that it's even better then the teenagers shows.)

I do watch various kids anime like Pokemon, Mew Mew Power,Kirby right back at ya!, and Cyborg 009. Oh! and Blue's Clues! I remember that show! My brother used to love that show to death when he was a kid! I watched it when I was little too. (Though, I really adored Kipper. Anyone remember that cartoon? Best kids show eva! )

So, I'll give it a try. Though it would probably turn me off as well depending on how "kiddish" it is.

However I would love to see an American take on the show. No actually, any national take on the show. All representations and all art styles.
I wonder if this show would have any chance of eventually reaching major channels in the US like Cartoon Network/Nick/Disney?

I also find it interesting how this show has more of a fantasy emphasis to it than a sci-fi tone that the Astro Boy series usually have.

I am liking that I'm seeing Tamao in the background there. He looks very excited. Even if this show is aimed at pre-schoolers, it should prove to be very enlightening.

Sometimes a different take on a series is warranted and needed to keep things interesting, besides that most of Tezuka's works don't necessarily need to be kept within the constrains of their respective genres to still hit their core concepts home.
