Minor update:

While Astro Boy Reboot will have a mix of both 2D and 3D animation, it seems that the animation will focus more on the 2D animation than the 3D animation, according to the Shibuya Productions' President/CEO's Facebook page. Someone asked him about it in the comments of his cover photo, which is of the newest official art for ABR:

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152850669337508&set=a.10151114169047508.460372.523927507&type=1&permPage=1

Question: Ça a de la gueule. Un mix de 2D et de 3D ?

Answer: Oui mais avec beaucoup plus de 2D.

I've wondered just how much 3D there would be in Astro Boy Reboot. I'd be okay with less 3D and more 2D, but the 3D isn't unwelcome.

I'm extremely excited for the new Reboot, though I have to say, news about it comes very slow, so anytime there's a new piece of information it's always a surprise! :D

Considering the 2003 is my favourite take on the series :heart: , I'm pretty sceptical as to if this will be as great as the other, previous incarnations; but as I said before, we know hardly next to nothing about this new series except for a few little details that have been revealed.

I just really hope that the newer story plan will be as breathtaking as the original has been... the fact that it drags you in and makes you curious as to what will happen next. I also hope that the characters persona's are as [likable or (in the case of some) unlikable as they should be. For example, Astro's main characteristics cannot be changed completely, but for every new take on Tezuka's story there has always been a twist or new detail added to somebody's personality, and I just hope that this takes a turn for the best, for when you really get into the tale of our robot friend, you seem to get rather attached to specific characters and it makes you feel like you are actually there with them in the adventure, like you are friends with them in reality.

Despite that, I am REALLY looking forward to a new Astro Boy series, and I can't wait for the trailer to be released! :tezuka:

AH! The picture looks amazing! I'm so excited for Astro Boy Reboot >u<
Is it bad that Astro looks adorable to me in that picture even though his face isn't shown, and he's pretty small in the picture? ;u;

Resisting the adorableness is not an option. :astro: :astro: :astro:

I am definitely glad to learn that they will be relying more on 2D graphics than 3D. This is at the very least going to be a beautiful show I believe (judging from the image released thus far).

Usually action and 'difficult scenes' are done in 3D.
