Looking at the poster again and I'm getting some vibes. The thought about this 'digital city' and the 'jellyfish' robots in the upper left hand corner is slowly cooking up an idea for another fan fiction story. Yah, Astro in the 'Matrix'.

I actually don't know all that much about the Matrix! I do think that one of the major plot points has to do with the fact that nothing is "real", per se. If this is a thing that happens, then I can imagine that a lot of jokes in this vein will be made...

I still hope this isn't the case, though. I hate existential bullcrap with a fiery passion.

The plot of the Matrix takes place in both the 'real' world, and a computer generated one in which the humans are literally "plugged into" via surgically implanted brain interfaces. It's a dark world laid to waste by an ancient war between mankind and machines that they created. In order to free themselves in the real world they have to defeat the machines in the computer world. Most of mankind has been converted into "batteries" to power the machines, they don't know this as they are all connected into the computer world, known as the matrix. I guess the matrix is the future of the 'Terminator' series.

I think I see Tenma as the creator of the Matrix, with Ochanomizu in the role of Morpheus. Tawashi is one of the "agents". This is going to be a very dark story!

Now I can see that it says "I4M35" on that robot's chest. Not that that reveals much, but it does feel good to finally see what that says.

I'm kind of wondering where Astro's fingers went. It looks like the artist gave up after doing the first one.
Tobio (if it is Tobio) is wearing the blue energy version of Google Glass, apparently.
What do you guys think the yellow dot next to the box lady is? I can't figure it out. Is it a chunk of popcorn that ended up in the scanner?

I wondered the same thing. It kinda looks like a C-Up button on an N64 controller.



I'm guessing it's related to that doctor character. Her hands and right foot are also touching those digital shapes on the sphere. You can actually see some red on her right hand. I wonder what that's about?

EDIT: I also noticed that I got a shout-out on the Anime News Network article about Astro Boy Reboot for correcting a couple details. Pretty cool!

There's some reddish-orangish digital spaces on that sphere she's in, too. That's what's on her right hand.

I think the robot says "J4M35" not "I4M35". They'll probably call him James in the show. Kind of a mundane name for a robot, especially next to Astro Boy!

It still looks like an I to me, but the "James" name makes sense. And actually, on second glance, the 5 at the end looks more like an S, so it would then read "J4M3S". Very interesting. At least we have a fanon name for the robot now.

I see the markings on the robot as looking like "J4M35" to me, too. It's a pretty classic thing to make robot names with L33t Speak.

I can't help but notice how Skunk seems to have heterochromia! He also seems to have a Miami Vice-style leisure suit, so he's probably still working in a mob in this series.
