Shenmue 3 is slated for December 2017, so that means that Astro Boy Reboot should come out somewhere in the time frame of September 2017 to December 2017 based on Biscay's claim in that video.

Previously, it was stated in the press release for MAGIC 2015 and in an April 2015 article that Astro Boy Reboot would come out in 2016:

I have no doubt then that this series has gotten delayed at least once since it was first announced back in June 2014. I wonder if Shibuya Productions is focusing more on projects like Shenmue 3 (and now probably the new Cobra series) because it has gotten a better fan reaction. As we all know, Astro Boy is not exactly a hot commodity right now.

I agree that the release date seems very far off. I guess the wait wouldn't have seemed that long if the series was still going to come out this year.

I wonder if we'll get more information in the coming days. I'd like to see a nice, big, hi-res version of that poster to analyze, for instance... And perhaps some more character art? Concept art? Character profiles? Come on guys, give us something!

My personal prediction is that we'll get a minor news update sometime in this upcoming week on one of their social media accounts with a high-res version of the poster, then we'll enter another drought of no news for a while. Hopefully, that's not the case, but if the series isn't coming out until sometime in Fall 2017, then we probably won't get much until next year sadly.

I would definitely like to see stuff like character art and character profiles though!

We might see a slow and steady trickle of information about this between then and now; or perhaps something a little more intermittent. It's not too terrible, I don't think; at least not with how fast time moves from my relative perspective. It's already almost March, for crying out loud!

Oh, and Tobio(Or at least the boy whom we think is Tobio)'s eyes are actually blue...? And he has this faint blue haze around his eyes, too, almost like a holographic screen. I think it's projected from the earpiece he has. I got his clothes designs totally wrong though XD They're so much more complicated than I thought they would look like!

Yeah, his eyes look blue to me. I kind of wonder what the blue holographic thing is all about. I guess we'll learn in due time!

Also, your drawing of Tobio was great, regardless of whether or not you got the design on his clothes wrong.

Is it just me or do the characters depicted sort of look like a superhero squad? Astro's in the middle with his hologram thingy, the girl in the uncomfortable pose is doing plant magic or something, the floating lady has box powers, and Tobio(?) has a hover thing and what looks like wearable tech. Plus there's a cute robot sidekick. I could see these characters fighting crime in Divercity. (ha ha ha)

I really hope the kid in the corner is Tobio, we don't really see much of him in any incarnation of the series and it would be nice to learn about him before he's horrifically killed off to make way for the hero. At least if they're doing that. I think they'll tone down the deathy themes, since not everybody is usually okay with that. I always thought that the differences between Tobio and Astro being more obvious to the viewer would add drama and make Tenma much more interesting, since to a little kid it might seem like Tenma just goes berserk for no reason. He has his cool robot son, right? What's wrong, Mad Scientist Dude?

And the poster has those weird floating tree bowls from the teaser. Seriously, what's up with those?

Now that I see the HD version of the poster, it appears to me that Tobio is riding on some sort of jet powered vehicle. The look on his face seems to show panic or fear. I think we may be looking at the same idea that Tezuka had for Astro's origin here. Too bad Tobio, we never got to really know ya!

Agreed. That doesn't look like a face of panic or fear to me. He's definitely smiling.

Some other thoughts on the poster:

We haven't talked about Tawashi yet. It's interesting that he's on the dark side of the poster and also has a metal plate on the left side of his head. I wonder what that's about?

Also, I see what I think is "HM35" on the robot's chest, though I'm not sure if that's an H.

For now, I'm guessing that Fubuki is the red-headed flower girl, and Akino is the brunette doctor-looking character.

... Huh, I guess that the flower girl's pose does look pretty uncomfortable. A common failure in the basics of dynamic posing, I suppose...

... Skunk's eyes almost look like two different colors...

Also, given this new image, and some imagery from the teaser, something about the world in which they live seems... artificial. Specifically, digital... like it's not really real, or it's basically like a giant hologram (a holodeck-type setup, maybe? but on a city-wide scale?)...
