By first glance, I would I thought the boy with the red hair would have been a character like that of Daichi, like in the 2003 series.

Random thought, not sure if it holds any weight.

My only qualm with this reboot so far is the more western style. Even the American Speed Racer cartoons looked more in line with anime than this is looking to be so far. Nonetheless, it does look to be an interesting serirs.

I'm not sure that the style looks "western", per se. It looks... fresh, to me. I've long since grown on it. (Or at least, those pretty, pretty backgrounds/environments; we haven't actually seen too much of anything else...)

Whatever it is, I was kinda turned off at first by the lack of Osamu Tezuka's distinct style or anything remotely anime looking. Now that we've gotten more images, I see a glimmer of it.

Both JM & Leo (Kimba) have blue eyes; likely to make them more pleasing to American viewers. Perhaps FL had something to do with this.

I really like the art style, mostly because when I was drawing the reboot characters they were very mathematical. Like everything was spaced just right and it was a little harder to get things off-model. Maybe that was intentional?

This is kinda unrelated what you guys are talking about, but I was reading the Once Upon a Time series of the AB manga online and this page reminded me of the plot of the reboot... Heh..
