I'm not sure where this figure comes from, but I like Atom's outfit and expression on this figure. The figure itself looks well made as well.

That figure looks exactly as I'd picture a 3D image of Atom from the Anime's. I think it's a perfect match for the 1963 area of how he appeared. Most Atom action figures I've seen look like caricatures of him, especially the 'tin plate' ones. This one actually looks 'real'. I know that's a strange way to explain it, but it's the best way I can describe it.

I know exactly what you mean. It's also a perfect match for his 1980 look in my opinion. There's so much official merchandise that's not quite right. I never liked the oversized feet of 2003 Decor, the lankiness of 2009 Hot Toys, the weird faces of Billiken and Takara, the oversized head of Funko Pop, the gorilla arms of Funko Hikari, etc. I get that some are brand stylised, but it's so hard to find a standard design done right.

Let's Draw Manga Astro Boy has a couple of pages showing a 3D wireframe, and it looks very close to the picture Shiyonasan posted. Slightly shorter widow's peak, but that's about it.

I can see where you're coming from, DrFrag and Tetsuwan Penguin. From what I've seen, many Astro Boy figures seem too stylized; that's not to say that stylized figures are bad, but you don't see too many figures that accurately portray Atom's proportions and features. I think the figure that I posted combines the body figure of the 1980 and 2003 series Atom along with the face of the 1960s and 1980s series Atom very well.

Here's the same figure, but without the green overcoat:

One of Astro's facial features has often been called a 'widows peak', but that triangular lock of hair in the middle of his forehead is really just that, a lock of hair. If you look at the way Tobio's hair was drawn, he had a lock of longer hair that just flopped down over his forehead. Astro's hairline follows Tobio's, but it isn't "fuzzy", and has sharp, straight lines. A true widow's peak actually grows out of the scalp forming a triangle, it doesn't hang down from higher up on the head.

The one feature I don't like about that second figure is how his belt seems to cut into his waist. The belt diameter should be greater than his torso and pants, not smaller! (That must be VERY UNCOMFORTABLE!)

Is that a wand he is holding? This figure reminds me of MM in Fantasia, as the sorcerer's apprentice! :D
