Toys and candy; it's a gimmick that sells. Heck, in a lot of cases I'd rather have the toy than the candy (not that in similar scenarios that the candy was always bad; I believe the candy that came with those Pokemon plushes we got years ago were some kind of tangy Wonka brand)...
