Live Action Astro Boy Movie (Official Upcoming Film)

"The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision blog reported on Wednesday that Warner Bros. subsidiary New Line Cinema is in talks to acquire Animal Logic Entertainment and Tezuka Productions' planned live-action film based on Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy."

As I read that, Tezuka Pro. itself is making the film & WB just wants to do the English language treatment for it. If not, I doubt it will be much good; that is, if a US co. actually makes the film. Atom fans such as I would likely think it poor.

Yeah, I'm not sure how much involvement Tezuka Pro. is gonna have in this, if any at all. It may just be the same level of involvement as the last movie, and with the current animated series being produced: they're probably like, producers or something, at most. And of course, they own the property, so credit goes to them for the original idea, as well as the permission to use it. Other than that, though, I'm not so sure that they'd be all that involved at all. But then, I have no idea how any of this fancy film stuff even works, so...

I still have some reservations about Atom being played by a live person at all. I mean, motion-capture is okay, but... idk. The problem with Atom is that he doesn't look like a real person. Attempts to make him appear as such, have the tendency to make him look... weird. :T At least to me, anyway; he doesn't really look like Atom anymore...

in this interpretation i think will work for this, Skunk retires from criminal activity, changes his name and joins the ministry of science, but then he goes crazy in his 50s and turns against and cha: and goes back to his old ways until who i imagined will be on the run from Skunk's minions the whole 2nd half, defeats skunk in some way...

BTW instead of Kusai, it's the simarly named Quasy in this version

This is such interesting and wonderful news! Our technology for making live action pictures has changed so much in the last 10 years it's difficult to say if anything can't be done now. As with any film, this project will need some good writing, great direction and the perfect cast.

I have to reserve all judgement and opinions until more information is given, but for now I am cautiously optimistic and excited.

I have not seen Deadpool (and have no plans to), but, I believe I've seen the individual in question. What's important to me is that he still looks like Atom- which, imo, is exactly why he shouldn't look like he did in Pluto.
