ROBOT FORTRESS

ln the old 1980s computer game STAR TREK THE REBEL UNIVERSE, there was a hazard called a Robot Fortress, a "nasty legacy from a long dead alien race that specialised in wrecking spaceships," if my memory of the game manual serves me correctly. When the Enterprise entered a system containing a Robot Fortress, its impulse power was halved. lt seems to me that the name is a reference to the Astroboy episode of the same name.

I'm not familiar with the game reference or much of ANY Star Trek material what-so-ever, but they are both from the golden age of science fiction and it is very possible that those who wrote that game could have been inspired by Astro Boy. There is always a possibility.
On the other hand, the name "Robot Fortress" is not entirely unique or special by any means and it could entirely be coincidence. Unless a writer fesses up we may never know.
