Astro Boy reference in Dick Tracy!!

Is anyone here reading the current Dick Tracy comic? You might be amused by their newest character who is getting ready for a cosplay convention.

OMG, I haven't seen the Dick Tracy strip since the 70's when it was carried by the New York Daily News. Back then his son had married a 'moon maid' (anybody remember the magnetic anti-gravity moon spaceship?). I see the teen girl (Astor's friend) must be a Selenite. But notice here:

The Dick Tracy strips always had characters whose names were bad puns or plays on words. (Like the pair of video tape bootleggers "Maxie Beta" and "V. H. Hess"). Looks like they are still at it with 'Astor', I love the way they 'lifted' him right out of the first episode of the 1963 anime.
Oh and the show was called CosUcon, did you notice the 'slur' in there? And I loved Dick being referred to as 'Inspector Gadget'!

Oh man, I LOVE this!! I remember Moon Maid (with those crazy eyes) and Honeymoon -- I am really hoping to find out that Astor's last name is Boynton. At last!! A recognition of the "American" Astro Boy!!

TEEN TITANS GO! s2, e14, ROBIN BACKWARDS / CRAZY DAY had the morphing boy as Atom.
I do not watch this show, but the DVR was on Toon 1st thing in the morning.

Well, they used the name anyway. Though this criminal seems to have a Robinhood like motive.

They really have honed this Black Jack character to match Tezuka's. Both are rouges, and wanted by the law for crimes (well being an unlicensed doctor could land KurÅ Hazama in jail), and both also have a quite a bit of good in their character. Both are heros too!
