The Godfather of Manga, Osamu Tezuka, would’ve turned 90 years old today (he was born on November 3, 1928).




One way Tezuka Productions is celebrating Tezuka's 90th birthday is by unveiling an updated version of the official Osamu Tezuka website, which is now mobile friendly. Take a look:

I briefly looked at the new website. Chrome has a built-in translator; interesting stuff.

It's hard to believe that the man who mostly built from the ground up the manga and animation industry in Japan would have only been ninety years old if he was still alive. You would think that it would, as Fredrik L. Schodt described it in his A History of Japanese Comics book, still be considered a relatively new industry like video games are.
