HP ink drastically reduced in price!

A few months ago, in fact, weeks ago, I bought an HP ink combo pack from Staples, using a $10 store credit (for recycling electronic items) for around $41. Now, viewing Amazon's page for these, an XL version, goes for less than $30! I read something about a lawsuit against HP for making printers that would only work with HP ink cartridges. Hmm. So, the deal was, ultra-cheap printers, but ink was expensive.

Just checked Staples' website, still want >$40 for this same item; though not likely offering those other brands, as Amazon does.

I used to get a good deal on ink for my HP printer at Costco. However, Costco only carried the special multi packs of XL sized ink for the latest models of HP printers. Now that my printer is over 5 years old (but still works fine), Costco doesn't carry ink for it anymore. By making the ink harder to find for older printers, HP forces you to upgrade to a newer one every so often. Wonder if they got sued for that too?
