Midi FM Synthesis

Postby Anapan » 15 years ago

Something I've been working on for a few days - how to get MIDI music instruments to sound like old sound cards used output. I've made up a web page explaining how to do it.

http://www3.telus.net/anapan8/oldscardemu.htm

To make this a bit on-topic, I dug up some astroboy MIDI files:
6j-tetuwan-atom-ballad.mid
6j-tetuwan-atom-march1.mid
93oatomu.MID
astro.mid
astro2.mid
Astroboy.mid
atom(2).mid
atom(3).mid
atom.mid
sonata21.mid
Tetuwan%20Atomu%20030412.mid
tetuwan-atomu.MID

that page has a mile long horizontal scroll bar; it makes reading it very awkwark. :ninja:

Ah, thanks. I didn't bother to try it with internet explorer or opera. In order to save time I used a html/css tag that allowed the text to be preformatted so I could just paste a text file since it was originally a forum post. Found a solution. Every browser has it's own word-wrapping code so I needed to put lots of them so each browser could pick out the one it likes.
