Mandelbulb: The 3D version of the Mandelbrot fractal

Maybe some of you know the Mandelbrot fractal, now here is the 3D version.

Sorry cybotron, I tried to lay my greedy hands on it, but it doesn't seem to be publicly available, at least for now. If I manage to get it I will think about you ;)

That stuff is crazy

It is even more crazy when you think that the boundary is a single path. That means all the patterns that appear when zooming are a single path infinitely long.

The equivalent hasn't (yet) been proven for the 3D version, only conjectured (that is the boundary is a single surface).

I found this software. Renders are slow and not very recognizable, but it may come from the fact that I haven't a working 3D acceleration on this computer (it is a virtual machine).
