I have to say, I hardly ever saw any bad cartoons out there. But The one that I dislike most is probably south park. Because of making fun of special needs kids is the only reason why I don't like it. I felt very offended by it because I used to ride a special needs bus back in elementary school because I was slow at math. I still am having trouble with math today, and seeing the special needs kids act "retarted" on south park makes me very angry.

I rode a bus full of mentally retarded kids when I was tranferred midterm to a school with a homeroom for crippled kids. As I was able to walk, they put me on the bus they could most easily divert to my home etc. The bus ride was horribly long, as they picked up just one kid at each stop, & it was a full-sized bus. On the afternoon trip, the bus would never just leave the kid standing by the curb, but waited for babysitters or parents to take charge of them.

I was about 11, & did not understand what was wrong/different about those 'kids.' There was one large boy who always brought a FISHER-PRICE toddler's toy camera with him, so I knew they were different from the start, but I simply could not imagine intellectual disabilities. One brat girl named Rosanne always lashed out at me when the bus aide escorted her past me to her seat. It may not have been like a bus full of wild apes, but it was close enough. :hyo: I hate them with a fury; I know it is not their fault, but I see no point in them. I will leave it at that. I have known others that though they had normal intelligence, they had behavioral problems that made them even more annoying than the retarded ones.

I was diagnosed with a learning disability (though, in retrospect, I just had no desire to cooperate & learn), tailz, & even without that, the other kids tormented me because they could get away with it, not fearing retaliation from the crippled kid. The new school did nothing to change that fact. I enjoy Southpark, hate the Timmy character, empathize with the boy on crutches.

However, I do not think that SP depicts Timmy unfairly, as I had about 5 months maybe more of unpleasant exposure to such kids. The crippled kids also had behavior quirks, perhaps arising from their frustrations about their inabilities. Speaking as one such (former) kid -- no, on second thought, skip it! :p I have already said enough.

I see. I used to watch south park back when I was about 10 or 11, but stopped watching it because of that reason. Some episodes are ok, but some can be a little offensive. I know they're jokes, but seeing that makes me a little upset. I really hope that you don't mean that you hate them though. I know they can be loud and crazy, but they are actually really friendly and wouldn't hurt a fly! I rode a sn bus, but they didn't have autism and such. Just were slow at some subjects like me.

Sounds to me that Southpark makes fun of everybody, disabled or not. So not making fun of disabled people would be like saying they are different, so in a way they aren't disrespectful at all, not more or less than to other people I would say.
The real sign that someone has become a fanatic is that he completely loses his sense of humor about some important facet of his life. When humor goes, it means he's lost his perspective.

Good point, fafner!

I do not suppose that I would go out of my way to act on my hatred, tailz, But as I was just a bit traumatized by that experience, I cannot imagine doing anything nice for one such person, to say the least.

I believe to the core unshakably so that if a joke is done out of pure meanness just for a reaction of laughter, even if everyone is a target and is not done to invoke critical thinking of a situation - then there is no reason why I or anyone should support it.

Thus why Family Guy and South Park is PERMANENTLY on my crap-list.

Making fun of any minority as the only selling point in humor is not necessary. You can be wickedly funny without being mean to a group of people.

The worst cartoon i've ever seen...

Probably that kid's show where they tried to squeeze in facts about stuff for kids to learn very indiscreetly. It was literally "oh hey let's just wander off the plot for a second or shove it right in during an important moment to teach you children somethiiing" yeah, it wasn't good.

I don't remember the name of it though. Only that it was a fantasy kinda thing with this girl and guy, had monsters in it, and the animation was clunky. o_o

I have a massive list. But I say one of the worst is The Looney Toons Show. What in the world was wrong with the original show? Lola Bunny used to be smart, cool, and hot (within limits of course). Now she's just dumb, annoying, and not much to look at (again, within limits).

I joined this forum in late 2013 when I was 15 going on 16. Ignore my oldest posts, they embarrass me so much that I've considered permanantly leaving the forum more than once. I've grown out of my fangirling phase over Black Jack, Atom and Uran ages ago but the memories still embarrass me at times... Though, I try to be more open-minded about it and accept it as an "interesting stage of my life". :tezuka:
