I don't think there is an ignore feature. Or at least one I haven't found.

Yes there is! Go to your User CP and you will find Ignore List there. :)

EDIT: and every topic page now has about 3 posts or less! LOL! I'm so glad to be registered. I recommend all the lurkers out there to register just so they can do this.

That was mean to say exactly who you would ignore. :o hmy:

My intention was not to be mean but rather to help the concerned users know that I think they should try to improve their usage of web forums (if they don't already). That's all in the past now, I'm always quick to note that web drama sucks, so let's leave all this behind us. :)

Isn't this off topic? ;) [/QUOTE]

Thanks I'm certain that I at least deserve to be ignored and blocked. As a punitive measure if no other.

Obviously my suggestion to bring this issue in private first and not using this topic for that purpose didn't mean much to you because you had to bring it again (with nicknames). You may not have meant to be mean, but this is the kind of thing that could definitely be taken as such by fellow members. This is a small forum and things can become personal a lot easier than on a bigger forum, if only because there aren't hundred active topics and it's hard to avoid anybody because you know you're just going to read and post in the same topics eventually.

So, since we're at it... You don't have to read anybody's post, in fact I have in the past (on other forums) chosen to avoid reading some people and I think it's a much better attitude to keep than to get angry or get involved in a never-ending argument. That's your personal choice though; it didn't have anything to do with spam (which was what this topic was for), nor did any of the users you mention had posted anything that could have been taken in a wrong way in this topic. I also hope that you at least brought up this issue calmly with the said members before posting this.

I used to be able to follow every topic here, but I am no longer able to do so because the forum is so much more active than it ever was. Anyway, I have come across some of the posts I believe you are referring too. This isn't true only for F-Man, but for everybody: if you find something annoying, why not bring this issue with a moderator first? In the past, there have been issues that were deemed annoying by our users that we either hadn't seen in the same way or that we thought we were the only ones annoyed and it wasn't that bad... So just because maybe you think we should already have done something and we haven't yet doesn't mean that we don't want to listen. (In fact, sometimes we were in the process of figuring out the best way to deal with a particular issue.)

As for the current issues, I believe one has been addressed in the relevant thread. The other one, about the "off topic posts", well as I said in my previous post in this thread, we had taken notice of them and were trying to find a good way to express our thoughts. I'm not sure I am ready to do so myself right now because it's a matter of balance, but I'll give it a try. There's nothing wrong with posting a smiley or a post with just a small sentence. However, if there are a lot of these, if the same user posts twice in a row in the same thread, if there are posts only to ask something like "anything new?, if they occur in the middle of a discussion on an entirely different topic, in the end, these add up and they can be annoying indeed. We've already seen that here in the past, and trust me it was a lot worse than anything occuring on the forum at this time. I also think that it's okay to have lighter posts, there should be room for that on this forum as well. It's all a matter of balance, and it's not as easy to sum up as a "no pornography is allowed on the forum" rule, so that's why even though I said we meant to post something so everybody is on the same page, it's not done yet.
