Well, considering all the yaoi I've seen has pretty much just been porn I think I'll stay away from it. Forever.

Also Mama Astro is starting to sound like something from Mario. Don't ask because I don't know.

"Mama Luigi" was the name of an episode of the old Mario Bros. cartoon.

I haven't actually seen it, myself. But it can't possibly be any worse than the old Zelda cartoon. *cringe*

Ah, whatever. I'm just too nitpicky, analytical, and stubborn for my own good. *shrug*

I didn't actually imply an age for Atom in my story. He WAS created in the image of a 9 year old boy, and it could be said that his "brain program" was copied from that boy. However, having a super computer for a brain his IQ was much greater than that of a 9 year old, and he was probably emotionally advanced over the original 'programming' due to the learning and adaptability of his computer brain.

SO, what grade would YOU start such a child off in? I wouldn't want to put him in a class where he would be ahead of the rest of the kids, that would be boring as hell! So it made sense to have him start middle school. Sure he was the shortest kid in the class, but that wasn't a problem, not for Atom!

BTW Penguin, I am reading a bit of your creative works and am liking what I am seeing. I thought I was the only one that did research for my fanfiction.

I just can't stand when an author has facts abysmally wrong. If you are going to use a real world setting for your story, you should be able to describe it correctly. I grew up in NYC, so I felt comfortable placing my first story there, but 35 years later much has changed (and my memory had modified reality). So I made use of Google maps to make sure I had the terrain correct.

My current story takes place in the International Space Station and at the Kennedy Space Center. I've visited the later (Hey I was AT the Shuttle landing strip when it first landed, and I've photos to prove it!), but I still made use of the satellite photos on Google to make sure I got my descriptions correct. I also downloaded lots of documentation on the ISS so I could describe that correctly. I did make up some technical facts to make some details of the story 'work' but few of my readers will ever notice (unless they work for NASA or SpaceX). I also am trying to make Elon Musk look like the genius that he is.

BTW I should get the next chapter of 'Dragon Rider' posted tonight.

This all the way. I have a friend who did this to a bunch of characters, and I seriously wanted to ask her why she didn't just change their names and call them her own characters. Even their looks were different. I was so disappointed.

Thanks, glad to know I'm not alone

I'm surprised no one had anything to say about my last post on this thread. However, this is definitely worth showing:
ShadowMegaman1 wrote:Anyways, the truth is I sense elitism coming from this board. The way we treat Diddy, it is not cool. The solution is available yet we choose not to utilize it. Instead we berate him and harass him. True he is annoying, but I still catch myself remembering that there is a human at the end of the username and avatar. Perhaps my conviction is not shared among you, probably so, but just take a step back and evaluate everything.

In the discussion of who is the weakest I'd say we all are. Much of our lives are invested in one tiny, little electronic message board. Our lives bleed from our fingertips into the keys we touch. For what? Of all things in this universe a video game. Even one year’s off with no certainty of release. What is it, truly, that drives us then when we so readily admit out own distaste for everything about this board? Quite simply this drive is birthed out of a common need all men share. Community, friendship, and belonging. When we as people feel we are lacking in our lives our eyes fix themselves on the other avenues to achieve that desire. Strip back the facades and look at things for what they are. Half of us operate in some automate, catatonic state where our responses are the result of habit than contribution. The other half traipse around like scholars and select members of an ivory tower club that look down on the poor, uneducated peons beneath us. Is this not silly? Would this not be absurd in any other facet of life? For a game?

I do not know, I am appealing more to the human behind the screen and less to the username and avatar. You can sometimes see the hearts of people behind a computer. Masks we wear all day are removed online. A world where people need not be responsible for the things we say. Cruelty that would be unbecoming in most real circles are acceptable daily practices on the internet. Words. Countless words carried by the constant streams of information and life. Perhaps it is true what they say. Technology is rewiring us all. We slowly become as cold and as lifeless as the computers we touch.

Just the musings of a little bird. I think I will fly away for a season. Later everyone. Hopefully this will answer SSBF's question in a roundabout, rhapsodic kind of way.
Same guy but known as Starphoenix on Smashboards. It doesn't really apply to this forum all that much, but most popular forums are guilty of this. Even though this message was at early 2012, it applies today and the way many people treat others is concerning.

nothing kills a fandom in my opinion like constant shipping wars.
Just as the Sonic the Hedgehog fanbase
