Yes, to me there is a time and a place for everything. Sometimes I just don't want to see ANY romance and it can get very annoying when it's suddenly there. Sometimes I just have to roll my eyes at movies and go "Really? They just HAD to make it love-story?"

Well according to Wikipedia, yaoi is mostly favored by a female readership, maybe I can understand that. Someone (who might be a Japanbigot) told me that he thought the reason for the countrie's problems with their inverse population issue (older population increasing faster than the younger) was due to the popularity of such 'gay' literature which was driving a wedge between the sexes (ie: more same sex couples than opposite) I won't touch that with a ten foot pole but .....

That was probably a once shot deal.

EXCEPT that I had a really interesting idea for what happens to Atom in a few years time from the setting in the current story.... DCP is sorta exploring that idea too, but my take on it is a bit ... different.

Yaoi is usually favored more by female identifying peoples because usually females are more understanding and open to non-binary gender-roles and scenarios. That and yaoi touches on the irresistible theme of 'forbidden love' a popular romance theme, and yaoi also when written sans smut focuses more on the emotional level of the relationship.

I think that is CRUCIAL.

It is VERY crucial, but there is porn that does exist with yaoi, fortunately most is without raw smut, but there are some manga that exist that simply have little to no plot.

I could go on about this for a long time but I'm not, I did enough of this for my gender studies and sociological anthropological culture studies.

@Penguin: DCP? Also, anytime you insert a bit of "romance" in a story, it's just so cliché and happens too fast. (the relationship progression, not the scenes themselves; those can't be over fast enough- no offense or anything...)

Another thing about it that bothers me is the age range. Sure, you bumped it up a bit in Dragon Rider, so to speak (which is an issue in and of itself), but still, he was a relative 9-10 year old when the concept was introduced. Which reminds me, he was too young for sixth grade (canonically, though, he's in third grade, and being virtually nine, he's too old).

DCP ... Dragonclawpaws

Yeah well I tried to keep that 'romance' as kid puppy love, only Cora has an older sister so she 'knows' a bit too much and experimented harmlessly.
Atom's age/grade is based on what school age kids in our country are ... aprox. anyway.

I wouldn't worry about the age anyway in relation to grade placement. He is a robot.

BTW Penguin, I am reading a bit of your creative works and am liking what I am seeing. I thought I was the only one that did research for my fanfiction.

But children are usually entered into kindergarten at the age of five, which would make them ten by the time they're in 5th grade...

Ah, whatever. I'm just too nitpicky, analytical, and stubborn for my own good. *shrug*
