Ideas For the Forum! Mods Please Read.

Ok i came up with some questions for the mods about a chat room for this forum. Here we go..

1) Is there a way to set up a filter for the Chat Room? This will help a bit.

2) is it possible to put the chat room on the top (or bottom) of the forum and its threads rather than having a separate page for it? This will increase chances of continued posting.

3) Will you all be willing to TRY a chat room and go from there? I ask the whole forum this question.

no problem, I was just throwing up an idea to get the people in power to scratch there heads, might help with the transition in to the new layout.

I went through all the topics whose last post was after May, 2010. It is possible that we missed a few threads so PM me if you think there is a thread that isn't where it is supposed to be in that time frame.

I wasn't sure of what to do with some art threads in which the art work wasn't from members here. Astro Boy discussion, or fan art? It is possible that there is a bit of inconsistency in those. I started leaving them in the Astro Boy forum, then saw Fauna had moved some of them, so I did the same.

I'll probably take another quick look at all the threads I already went through, and then will slowly keep moving the older threads too.

I was once part of a forum that had a chat system where only registered users could get in.

But I am very certain that it was not vBulletin.

I got another suggestion, but really to do community wise. I was thinking could the forum host contests? It's something I've never seen here except for the caption game thingys. You could do them on all sorts of things from drawing pictures, comics (pigs :hyo to writing or graphic designs.

It might be fun! Plus it could get people more involved too with the forum and add some excitement since news on Astro has currently gone cold turkey, since I doubt we'll hear much on Pluto for a while.

I can see these contest being fun, but would the contests be run and supplied by moderators or members? If we had fan art requests as prizes, I'm the only moderator who can draw, and I doubt we'd be able to come up with enough material prizes without something like this in the end:

I mean, I have some Peacekeeper and Astro Happy Meal toys and one keychain I'd planned to sell that could be prizes, but those aren't fun prizes.

I think it's undecided.

Would it help if you had a thread in which you could say whatever come to mind, without having to worry over remaining on topic? I don't mind those kind of discussion as long as they remain in ONE thread. And I don't think anybody would mind either.

I have the same questions Fauna has over the contest idea... please explain.

I'm not willing to give away any of my Astro novelties, but I'd be willing to assist in running something like this... I can draw!
