The DVD menu looks really cute too, as can be seen in this video.

Ah! That was really cute! This person must've really  Osamu Tezuka's works soo much, that he even made a video of unboxing of a Black Jack anime DVD! Then again, who wouldn't? :D

You wanna know something? I was watching one of the Black Jack (Animated) films today on Soku, and I was like: Hey, I wonder if Anime sols will ever get the BJ films on DVD w/ English subs someday? (Also hoping for Astro to pop up on Anime sols sometime soon.) Maybe like after they're done selling the other sets and stuff.

I watched like 10 min. of the movie (Skipped the short film before the movie, cause I already seen it before a while back.) and it was soo interesting. Though, I stopped it cause I don't want to end up watching the film w/o understanding what's going on. (Though, strange, cause I can sometimes understand what they're saying and what's happening w/o English subs. I know some Japanese so I guess that's one of the reasons why.)

Black Jack's such a daredevil! Operating on a patient that's buried in a bunch on rubble while laying down on a beam trying to operate. He'll do anything to save a life, and that's what I like about him. He's brave, loyal, kind and courageous. :)

Sorry for bumping up an old thread but...is Animesols still alive? It's been a few months since the last update. If they are dead then that would be a pity, considering how much people here have been hoping for an Astro Boy release from them.

If they're still alive hopefully Tezuka fans will give them more support for their next Tezuka boxset. The support for Tezuka's TV specials and Blue Blink was just awful especially considering how important those series are.

In fact everything would be going so much faster if the site was getting more support in general. I'm sure there wouldn't be this long hiatus right now. We might even have had some Astro Boy sets.

The admins of this site didn't even want to email the members of this forum about Anime Sols. So many fans who don't know about Anime Sols and would love to know and help are getting denied the chance. And people like being alerted of important stuff like this too, just look at this comment. Anyway, please feel free to voice your disapproval of this to the admins.

I'm thinking about backing the 'Captain Ken' project (which looks like it will easily exceed the goal at this point). I'm just debating between the $30 complete digital version and the $35 complete book version. I wonder what formats that digital version will be in, as in is it compatible with Linux, Android, and Blackberry?

I can appreciate the fact that Anime Sols is trying to get some of Tezuka's lesser know (to the west anyway) works into video, but maybe that's the problem. If they were to release sub'ed versions of the Astro Anime that were only seen in Japan (the 'Missing 89, the short features and movies, and a replacement for the botched up '80 and '03 series) I'm sure it would sell out quick. THEN once the word REALLY got out about Anime Sols, some of the other Anime features might stand a chance.

You've got it backwards from a realistic standpoint. The site needs to show success if we want Mushi Pro (60's series) to join the site, same for the 2003 series which is tied to Sony and they're not going to risk it if the site has not already proven to be very successful first.

At the current rate the only Astro Boy series that has a chance of showing up is the 80's one, hopefully on Blu-ray since it already came out on that format in Japan. There's also the museum shorts but it's possible that Tezuka Pro doesn't want those on DVD. So for everything else people better show some stronger support.

I was shocked when Bagi and the others didn't get funded. I thought that was a popular movie, at least popular enough to get the others funded with it. Guess not...ugh. It would have been a great idea to email everyone, remember those cute bags they were offering a few months ago with Leo and Astro? I'm sure some member's would love to have funded even that one!

Maybe they need to put on some more well-known shows? The 1989 version of Jungle Emperor has only just recently started getting subbed, and I know a ton of fans who'd love to own it. But yeah, little to no publicity outside of fansites is looking to be the problem...
