I agree with Shiyonasan. It is pretty much why I do not get involved with threads like that, and plus, these days I do not have much to say. I lurk most of the time.

Also, I found this:

Tomorrow morning at 2AM we set our clocks ahead by one hour here in the US. Not all countries observe this tradition however. There is NO DST in Japan, however note that in some parts of the country the sun rises at 3:30AM during the summer months!

As a radio ham I sometimes wondered how Japanese hams communicated in Morse code. There actually is a special version of the 'cypher' in which each katakana character maps into its own morse character.

So here's how Atom would send his name:

dah dah dit dah dah - dit dit dah dit dit - dah

To go along with Post #142 and #144, there are currently two states in the USA that don't observe daylight savings: Hawaii and Arizona (with the exception of the portion of the Navajo Nation located in the northeastern part of the state, which does observe daylight savings).

Ariana Grande's ethnicity isn't totally American. She's Italian, also has some Greek and North African roots.
I was really surprised when I found this information here, earlier I always thought that she's a typical lucky American Girl :D
How can you stand there and deny it? (с ;)

The longest name for a place in the world is "Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu" which is the name of a hill in New Zealand. There is not supposed to be a space in that name; it is all one non-spaced line of text. Astro Boy Online Forums is spacing the name for some reason.

From its native Maori language, the name translates to English as "The summit where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, the slider, climber of mountains, the land-swallower who travelled about, played his nose flute to his loved one."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu

For shortest place names, there are a number of places in the world with only a single character for their name:

The longest name for a person is likely to be "Johann Gambolputty de von Ausfern- schplenden- schlitter- crasscrenbon- fried- digger- dingle- dangle- dongle- dungle- burstein- von- knacker- thrasher- apple- banger- horowitz- ticolensic- grander- knotty- spelltinkle- grandlich- grumblemeyer- spelterwasser- kurstlich- himbleeisen- bahnwagen- gutenabend- bitte- ein- nürnburger- bratwustle- gerspurten- mitz- weimache- luber- hundsfut- gumberaber- shönedanker- kalbsfleisch- mittler- aucher von Hautkopft"; though he is a fictional character featured in MPFC episode #6

On the actual side, I have never used an umbrella as anything other than a parachute, when jumping off the porch.

Actually, the longest name for a person is:

(There are supposed to be no asterisks in the "Wolfe" part of the name.)

Coincidentally, his name is 666 letters long.

Here's the Wikipedia article on him:

His parents must have been on something. Reminds me of that program I watched on TV, one guy had all the famous boxer's names in his name. 13 in total, if I recall.

I also discovered a band in the last few days called: 'Eximperituserqethhzebibšiptugakkathšulweliarzaxułum'. With one main album called, 'Prajecyrujučy sinhuliarnaje wypramieńwańnie Daktryny Absaliutnaha j Usiopahłynaĺnaha Zła skroź šaścihrannuju pryzmu Sîn-Ahhī-Erība na hipierpawierchniu zadyjakaĺnaha kaŭčęha zasnawaĺnikaŭ...' The songs are not much better. I tried to trnaslate it, but it seems like Polish gibberish.
