That sentence was used to test teletype machines. In fact a device that generated that sequence to test such machines was called a 'fox box'.

The longest recorded marriage lasted 91 years and 12 days.

On August 29, 1772, 12-year-old Daniel Frederick Bakeman married 14-year-old Susan Brewer. Their marriage lasted until Susan's death on September 10, 1863, when she died at the age of 105. He died on April 5, 1869 at the age of 109. Together, they had 9 children (the first was born in 1782).

Here's something interesting. The iconic sound effect of the TARDIS taking off was made simply by scraping a house key against piano wire, with of course some edits here and there.

Mind blown!

you would be surprised at just how simple movie and tv sound effects can be.

there is this show I used to watch called movie magic, I wish it was still on, it was so cool to see how they did all those effects.

Carrots weren't always orange. It wasn't until the 17th century in the Netherlands that carrot farmers grew carrots in the orange color for political and fashion purposes. Originally, they were purple, yellow, red, and white.

Wouldn't a white carrot be confused for a parsnip?

So about 68% of the members have forgotten their passwords (and or login names!). I wonder what percentage of our members have no avatars.
