I'm excited for this! It's the first full episode for the 12th Doctor, and like Day of The Doctor, it's going to be released in theatres all around the world. The release is August 23 (August 25 in the US). I really want to see it. I kinda missed out on Day of the Doctor since it came out before I became a fan, so I really don't wanna miss this. But I doubt our small theatre would be showing this. I'll probably have to go to Canton (a city a half hour away from where I live). That also means I have less than a month to catch up on episodes. But I can't wait! :D I'm excited to see how the new Doctor will play out. If you want to find out more, here's the site. http://www.doctorwho.tv/watch/cinema/ and I guess the Doctor Who Facebook page will have info and dates later.

I googled Dr Who, and discovered that the show first aired in 1963, the same year that the first Astro Boy anime did.

I know I saw. But I'm not gonna watch it. Not yet anyways. I'm putting it off until Mondy when it shows in theaters here in the US. Do you have any idea how much I was tempted to see it!? But I want no more spoilers! But I'm excited to see it tommorrow. Got my TARDIS dress, and we're going to my favorite restaurant before we see it. Woo hoo! :D I still don't understand why they didn't show it in the US yesterday like they did with Britain though. Go fig.

Probably had something to do with BBCAmerica subscribers getting their money's worth what with DW being one of their main draws!.

Any way hope you enjoy it! The big screen of a theater experience cannot be beat! I can remember seeing the first Doctor Who movie on the big screen back in the mid-sixties. I am referring to 1965's film adaptation of the Doctor Who TV serial, "The Dead Planet" which starred actor Peter Cushing as the Doctor and was released as "Dr. Who and the Daleks"!

I've heard of that. I actually have an old poster I got from someone. It's just weird though. From what I understand, they like remade a popular serial, but changed it. The Doctor wasn't a Time Lord, but a human inventor or something, and his name was actually Dr. Who rather than it being the question Doctor Who. The characters are the same, but different, Susan is a younger child rather than 15 in the original series for example. It didn't make much sense to me. I mean the movie came out a few years or so after the series correct? I'll never understand the intentions of some movies. I do want to watch it out of curiosity though. And because Daleks are my favorite Doctor Who villains.

I had a lot of fun at the premiere! The episode was good. I LOVED Peter Capaldi as the new Doctor. Yeah, the dinosaur at the beginning was a bit weird, but if I'm mistaken, I think it was a reference to a Third Doctor serial or something. I had a lot of fun meeting other Whovians and I even sat next to a nice 11. I made a new friend too. We ended up talking for about ten minutes after the movie was over. She's a Sailor Moon fan as well. I added her to my Facebook. I loved it! I was kinda sad it was over. But I have a feeling that it won't be the last Doctor Who release. ;)
