I've seen so many mixed reviews for this I am uncertain about watching it until it is out for a period of time and a more well-rounded opinion is made...

Having seen a large portion of the movie...do not see Pixels. It's not worth your time at all. I was playing what I did see of the movie in the background while organizing my Etsy shop's stock, and I still feel like I wasted my life on it.

The plot can basically described as the following: Two kids play a video game tournament, and the results are shot into space because Adam Sandler Movie Plot. In the future, one of those kids has sadly grown up to be Kevin James, whom is now the president of the United States. Adam Sandler is a repairman or something, having finally found a new hobby outside of disgracing American Jewish people as a whole. Aliens saw the aforementioned video game footage, and attack with armies themed like the games, actually destroying several non-North American international landmarks. Adam Sandler is suddenly a state hero and teams up with Kevin James, Peter Dinklage, and some crazy pervy guy to fight the aliens. Most of these battles involve Sandler loudly explaining how to play the associated video game as if the target demographic wouldn't know.

Just watch the Futurama short it rips off or Wreck-It-Ralph instead. I promise you won't miss anything (outside of being angry at Adam Sandler all over again, or a hangover from alternative methods of coping with the movie.)

Adam Sandlar fans will love this movie!!!!!
27 July 2015 | by Garrett Heinrichs (United States) – See all my reviews

Honestly, if you are a Sandlar fan hands down liking his comedic approach and adoring his movies you will love it.

Sandlar has proved himself again and it's magnificent! The majority of the negative reviews (from what I read) don't appreciate or like any of his movies. Why go if you are just gonna hate it? He still adds his classic jokes so I would recommend this movie if he makes you laugh.

I grew up on those arcade games as a child and I loved how he portrayed it. My friend who hasn't liked any of his movies since "Don't Mess with the Zohan" loved this movie and I dragged him to it.

He can't stop thanking me.

Look, Adam Sandler can't be worth the price of admission OR a video, or even triple posting for no reason. ^

I just saw Pixels tonight, and I quite enjoyed it. I'd been eagerly waiting to see it since I saw the preview at another movie a few months ago...

My opinion: I really liked it. The graphics were excellent (in 3D of course, I wouldn't have seen it otherwise), and as a game junkie from the 80's myself, I think they did an amazing job at bringing the old graphics to the big screen.
The details were immaculate and I liked how they personified some of the characters. The story line wasn't exactly extraordinary, but I had anticipated that going in. It's a movie about 8-bit games invading earth, what more could you expect.

If you played these games religiously in the 80's, then I highly recommend seeing this movie. If not, maybe don't invest too much $ into seeing it, but I still think it's worth a watch for anyone.
