Yeah it was pretty sad, but I didn't cry.

I agree, it is. But I have to admit Astro's reaction when they are just about to suffer their typical Shakespearean fate was quite comical.

For me, the saddest episodes in the 1980s are "blackie young" and "atlas forever".

My saddest episodes are the topic of this thread and the Light Ray Robot.

The Death Balloon is the saddest one to me. Along with the part where Astro has his energy cassette taken out in Frankenstein.

It's probably because Astro moves me more than the other characters.

One of the saddest episodes, to me, was Lilly on Peligro Island. Atlas forever was also pretty sad.

Yeah it was sad, however I've only watched it once. I can't remember did they get hit by two cars and turn into some statue? o.o

WARNING SPOILER ALERT

In a nutshell their own creators were trying to drive their robot's racing cars at each other. Robio and Robiette got in the way, lovingly embraced and were smashed and molded together into some upright metallic pole. But their hearts could be heard beating together as one inside the structure. A romantic tragedy.
